The Beer Summit

Posted in America, Big Media, Election of 2010, Eminently Occidental, Obama Administration, racism, stupidity at 5:44 pm by Toby Petzold

I think it’s great that the President of the United States is comfortable enough in his own skin to share a beer with a couple of guys out on the lawn of his house.

But what brought him there is ridiculous, although entirely predictable: pride, arrogance, and a kind of narcissism that deserves to be examined and laughed at —for the good of the Republic.

I have zero respect for anyone who cannot see the cultish element in Obama’s support. The post-racial post-American anti-Bush makes monkeys out of men: poor little nothings (often employed as “journalists”) who are too afraid of being stigmatized as racists for making even the most basic kind of criticisms of him that one must expect of the fourth estate. How will these Democrats be held accountable if the people on the TV and the editorial boards are too afraid of false accusations? For that matter, how can we expect cops to do their jobs if we assume that they are authoritarian bullies bent on oppressing minorities? That’s what the President did. And he was wrong.

So has he now apologized to James Crowley? I doubt it.

Pride goeth before a fall.

Liveblogging the Lying Narcissist’s Latest Campaign Speech (Part Two)

He’s not sweating, really. He’s effervescing —like the insubstantial clown and stain on the American People’s judgement that he is: into the ether and between the threads.

Tapper’s question was great and also had thorns.

Gay

Posted in America, Eminently Occidental, Unexplained Mysteries, personal at 8:28 pm by Toby Petzold

Jesus, could I be any happier? I’m almost nauseatingly at peace with the world.

For instance, I’m out driving around a while ago —completely oblivious to the carbon bigfootprint I was putting down— and I spot these two cats moving down the sidewalk in some sort of fraternally-cocksure gait. It’s a pair of very young black men —eleven or twelve, tops— wearing their white cotton wifebeaters and sporting some sort of overlong shorts or trunks. And they’re wearing them in a dignified manner —even pulled up to their waists! (Their kicks I don’t know from; I wasn’t paying attention.)

So, I’m idling there at the light with some early James Brown funk going on and watching these guys —and just beaming. And I’m thinking of all the afternoons of my own youth spent with my friends and of us wearing the appropriate uniforms of our day when we, too, would walk the streets like we owned them. And I’m thinking and hoping for these young men that they live long and prosper and realize the privilege that comes to men of my age to see the world anew in every moment lived with charity in one’s heart.

The Last Temptation of Jacko?

I actually have my TV on CNN right now: if the diseased freak Michael Jackson actually is dying, I want to get my breathless, celebrity-obsessed bullshit straight from the horse’s ass.

That’s Wolf Blitzer, baby.

Fucking garbagemen, all of you.

UPDATE: That may have been the stupidest mixed metaphor I’ve committed in days. Carry on.

“The Development of the Law”

Posted in America, Big Media, Eminently Occidental, History, Obama Administration at 10:21 pm by Toby Petzold

I just listened to the whole of Sonia Sotomayor’s now-famous remarks at Duke Law School in 2005 and can reliably inform you that they are not taken out of context.

First, I must say that this video (at the link above) is my first extended acquaintance with Sotomayor of any kind. I find her to be suitably cerebral, although she protests too much that she is less engaged than her colleagues, even if more intellectually sloppy.

Second, the soundbite that Big Media took from her complete answer is quite fair. She was comparing and contrasting the roles of district and circuit courts when she committed her Kinsleyan gaffe: she blurted out the truth. But she does elaborate. And she does see her job as policy-making or “developing the law,” as she puts it. Is that a necessary evil of the higher courts? Probably, although sound law is its own arbiter. But there’s no question that she relishes the opportunity to make her justiceship a vehicle for “social progress,” either.

Third, it will take a whole hell of a lot more than remarks like these to stay her from her appointment, so back to the drawing boards, you fading patriarchical oppressors! That whitey tape’s gotta be out there somewhere!

Just think about all the eerie similarities between the Religion of Global Warming and certain monotheisms we know:

There’s certainly prophecy.

As well as eschatology.

And a seemingly inexhaustible measure of zealotry.

Did I mention disputes over doctrine and the constant striving for orthodoxy, generally?

Could also mention tithing and rituals and martyrdom and all the lying.

Lying? You bet. There’s a lot of nonsense that one is obligated to believe. Credo quia absurdum. But the hippies don’t see it my way. Instead, they believe themselves to be heroic saviors of the Earth because of where they come down on the “issue” of carbon dioxide.

This carbon tax that Henry Waxman and other discredited Californios are trying to implement is a giant fucking Socialist power grab. Wherever you live, tell your Congressman that you don’t want to fork over a mortgage payment’s worth of taxes every year to some United Nations-managed treasury of carbon-meritoriousness. This is a scam, dude. A post-American economy-destroying scam intended to enrich the Democratic Party and its collaborators.

No Presumption of Innocence?

The excremental Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has apparently decided to put his country ahead of party, according to this poorly-edited AP report:

President Barack Obama’s allies in the Senate will not provide funds to close the Guantanamo Bay prison until the administration comes up with a satisfactory plan for transferring the detainees held there, top Democrats said Tuesday.

And in a further break with Obama, the Senate’s top Democrat said he opposes transferring any Guantanamo prisoners to the United States for their trials or to serve their sentences. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has said 50 to 100 Guantanamo detainees may be transferred to U.S. facilities.

“I can’t make it any more clear,” Reid said. “We will never allow terrorists to be released in the United States.”

I think it was Mitch McConnell who said Sunday last that no city in this country would welcome being the venue for the trials of these Mohammedan savages (my term, not his) because it would make those cities targets for al-Qaedists and other representatives of the Religion of Peace. I think that’s a great point. Giving them any sort of domestic profile also gives the filthy hippies who apologize for them a chance to do some of their performance art for the cameras. And I don’t care to see these jihadists exalted by the post-American neo-socialists, so nuts to that, fella.

I wonder what got into Reid, though. It’s not like him to consider the American point of view in the War against Islamofascism, so there must be an interesting backstory.

Or a sudden premonition of his own domestic dhimmitude.

Louis Caldera

Posted in American Military, Eminently Occidental, Obama Administration, Unexplained Mysteries, stupidity at 10:04 pm by Toby Petzold

Here’s a Friday night news dump for you:

WASHINGTON, May 8, 2009 – The director of the White House Military Office has submitted his resignation in the wake of an April 27 aerial photo shoot with a presidential aircraft over New York City.

Louis Caldera, who served as secretary of the Army during the Clinton administration, resigned his office effective May 22.

“I have concluded that the controversy surrounding the Presidential Airlift Group’s aerial photo shoot over New York City has made it impossible to effectively lead the White House Military Office,” Caldera wrote in his letter of resignation.

Unreported as yet is who cooked up such a thoughtless caper. My guess is that the answer lies somewhere in the world of Faye Resnick David Axelrod. This was a decision made by the image cultivators. It was a lousy one at that.

It’s a hoot to hear how angry Obama is said to have become upon hearing of the incident. In fact, this is the only issue that’s been reported by his propagandist lapdogs in Big Media that has referenced his anger even a little.

So now we know what gets this President mad: stepping on your own dick while scuffing up his.

Well, There He Goes Again

I just heard that Obama’s heading to Egypt in the next few weeks to apologize for America again. WTF?! Doesn’t he have enough to do here with wrecking the economy and everything?
