Toby Petzold is a fifth-generation native Texan. He has worked as a vending machine stocker, a poet, the editor of his high school newspaper, a columnist for his college newspaper, a nightwatchman and lounge attendant, a minor operative with the Texas Democratic Party, a technical writer, a substitute teacher, and an actual schoolteacher.
Petzold is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (1994) with a B.A. in History and a minor in Classical Languages.
Petzold has traveled extensively throughout the United States and much of Europe. Besides his love of travel, he enjoys being lazy, overeating, watching TV, listening to music, reading, writing, and amateur genealogy.
Unbelievably, Petzold is single.
