An American Tragedy
Wouldn’t it be an American tragedy if the greatest domestic threat this country had faced since Lincoln tried to resupply Fort Sumter led to a resurgence of racial discrimination and recrimination? The incompetence —and what I believe is the ideological malfeasance— of Barack Obama’s Administration is so extreme that I truly worry about a backlash.
The domestic threat I refer to is this incipient Socialism of Obama’s. It is anti-American and degenerate and needs to be resisted everywhere.
The tragedy I refer to —the American tragedy— is that, having put a self-identified black man in the White House, we might then collectively become too timid to criticize him as a person or politician or, worst of all, as the President for fear that what we say might be misconstrued by ill-coiffed dung beetles like Al Sharpton into evidence of our racial bigotry. After all, wasn’t it absolution of their racial guilt that so many of Obama’s white supporters were seeking when they chose to make a no-longer-crypto-Socialist the most powerful man on Earth? What will happen as people who voted for Obama learn more about the lies and incompetence of his Administration that were for too long ignored or airbrushed over by Big Media because of the liberal fear of being accused of ”racism”? Who wants that around his neck? Who knew there were so many freshly-minted synonyms for uppity?
It is an outrage for the ages that we would let this economy and culture crumble around us for fear of seeming like bigots. How eminently occidental! What other civilization but ours would go down into the dust without a fight just to be thought polite and broad-minded?
I don’t guess megalomaniacs are particularly given to thoughts of humility, but this President we are stuck with now is in dire need of some. He needs to be laughed at and ridiculed and toughened up. As it is, he is a thin-skinned Marxist theoretician who deserves a good enemy.
And I don’t mean the American Middle Class, either.
