Anxious
I thought the President sounded anxious tonight.
Far more importantly, he made an essential point about our situation in Iraq: interference from Syria and Iran there is unacceptable.
And he threatened them. At long last, the President threatened the puppetmasters and the terrorist sponsors, east and west.
I can support the President’s strategy if what he promised tonight is acted upon. If our forces are allowed to exterminate the enemy, then Baghdad may be able to be secured.
So who are the enemy? Primarily, the ones trying to kill our men and women in uniform.
I don’t give a damn if we go from shooting a Sunni tribesman to bombing the house of a Mahdi leader: if they’re trying to kill our people, they and their whole fucking neighborhood can burn.
But the other enemies are the underminers of peace in Iraq. The Ba’athists in Syria and the Party of God in Iran. They are the ones Bush was threatening tonight.
Let them be anxious.
