Watching the [News]
I know this is just a terrible thing to say, but 16 and 17 year-old guys are not “little boys” or “children.” Jesus Christ! If you think those are legitimate terms for high school juniors and seniors, then just ask these “little boys” themselves whether they conceive of themselves as such. It’s fucking stupid and an absolute abuse of terms.
If, when I was a senior in high school, someone had referred to me as a “little boy,” I would’ve laughed in his face. What nonsense! Seventeen year-old guys are driving cars, shopping for colleges, joining the army, going to clubs, getting laid, and working.
Young men in their late teens are men. Period. Their stones have dropped, morons —and they’re making choices and bearing the responsibilities facing other men twice and thrice their age and more. It’s literally embarrassing to common sense for these people on the TV to carry on as though these young men are still sitting around with teething rings and playing with toy trucks in their mommies’ dayrooms. Get serious!
