I was watching an interview a while ago with one of Assad’s talking cockroaches (some woman billed as a “Syrian cabinet minister”) and this thing alludes to the rationale of Nazi Germany in starting their war of aggression as another instance where the ostensible reason was “fighting terrorism” —just as Israel is now doing in Lebanon.
Well, Israel does not proclaim on an hourly basis that its ultimate goal is to eradicate the Arab peoples. Israel is not interested in conquering the Middle East or pursuing racial purity through the mass murder of homosexuals and untermenschen. Its economy does not depend on the slave labor of concentration camps and it doesn’t enter into treaties as a means of buying time for its further aggressions.
In fact, Israel isn’t anything at all like the Nazis. Israel is a place where Jews could again find some semblance of safety and autonomy in the wake of Nazi Germany’s and the Soviet Union’s practice of genocide against the Jewish peoples. This is an historical fact —understood and experienced within living memory.
When puppet-headed cunts like this woman make such a comparison between Nazis and Israeli Jews, it is a deliberate abuse of History. It is a way of inflaming the Jew-hatred that too many in this world share. I think that the Big Media outlets that choose to air such propaganda should make more of an effort to challenge and rebut what is obviously an offensive slander.

We’re just lying to ourselves. There is no solution to the problems of the Middle East that does not include the absolute destruction of the Islamofascist elements within Iran and Syria. All of this stuff going on right now is just preliminary because the Jew-hatred will have to be burnt out of these wretched Submitters.
Collateral damage? Yes. There will be shocking amounts of that. But as the japs and krauts taught our grandfathers, there’s no genocidal dream of imperial glory that can’t be analyzed with the flattening of whole cities.
We are just lying to ourselves. This situation will only be resolved by turning Teheran and Damascus into large glass parking lots.
On Your Guard, My Dreyfusards!
I’m hearing that France and the Lebanese army are going to comprise some part of the international peacekeeping force that will eventually be inserted into the buffer zone in southern Lebanon between the Hizballic Shiites and Israel.
I can’t recall just now which chapter in the Book of Revelation presages this particular aspect of Antichrist’s plan, but I’m sure it’s in there.
A Grand Unifying Theory of Big Media
Turns out, there’s a reason why the multi-billion-dollar corporations that run America’s Big Media depend on the health of our consumer-oriented capitalist economy while simultaneously propagandizing their customers with bullshit that seeks to undermine the general legitimacy of the political structures in which we consumer-customers live: because skepticism and distortion are more profitable as journalistic standards than truth-telling.
The Bush Administration, for instance, does not exist so much for the execution of its foreign and domestic policies as it does for its value as a target for asshole reporters who don’t know their history and who consider the dissemination of their Leftist lies more important than fairly informing the American public of the truth of what we do in war and peace.
If your default setting is the belief that this country does not have a right to defend itself or its allies and that everything we do to make the world safer for ourselves and for those friends is somehow suspect or illegitimate or unprecedented, then it is nothing at all to stand there before the cameras and the world and spout bullshit intended to undermine our values as Americans.
Jefferson, who was so wrong about so much, was right about the necessity of tyranny in democratic societies —such as ours was to be— when he said that the tree of our liberty needed to be fertilized sometimes with a whole lot of crushed dissent.
In don’t regard it as a journalistic or intellectual virtue for these reporters at CNN and elsewhere to constantly seek the worst possible way to portray our diplomatic and military efforts in the fight against the Islamofascists. Do these propagandists actually believe that the ideology that we and our friends are fighting against is superior to our own?! What in their experience of the world would warrant such a belief?
Well, it’s the skepticism. And it’s the bullshit belief that the little guy is always right because the big guy must inherently be wrong: how else would the big guy have gotten so big if he hadn’t stepped all over the little guy? But, sometimes, you gotta figure that the little guy may just be an asshole. That’s the case these days, jack. You want to see what the press looks like in a society where the men are blowing themelves up to get to paradise, the women are covered up in clothes that approximate body bags, and the kids are sent to schools where they’re taught that Jews are apes and pigs?
You’ve gotta big platform, assholes. You’ve got a mostly pliant and passive audience that deserves better information than what you want to supply. And you’re doing them this disservice because you want the approval of like-minded award-givers and the profits that come from the perverted and cynical mass of anti-American nonsense you traffic in.

“Catastrophe”
As is well known, my personal discovery of any popular piece of art officially marks the beginning of its demise and relegation to unhipness, but I still must say that I am absolutely smitten with the song “Catastrophe” by the group Rainer Maria. I only know new music through the medium of the recently-introduced music video channel we have here on Austin cable, and that is how I found this song (as I also found Gnarls Barkley’s song “Crazy” not too long ago).
“Catastrophe” is a wonderful moment of songwriting genius. I don’t know if the two dark-haired girls in the video are just actresses playing out the lyrics, but the singer of the song is a beautiful young woman with a very rich and feminine voice.
I hope she is the writer of the song, too.
Let This Be a Lebanese War
Emile Lahoud sickens me. I understand that he’s in a bad situation but, unless Nasrallah is explicitly forcing him to give these interviews in order to play up the victim routine, he really ought to keep his fucking mouth shut.
This war has laid the whole stinking mess of the so-called Cedar Revolution wide open. It was all a sham, and I am as embarrassed as anybody to acknowledge it. The “international community” may have managed to get the overt Syrian presence out of Lebanon, but it was just a feint to let Hizballah claim its stake.
To Lahoud, Hizballah are the liberators and heroes of Lebanon. And, now, they are the cause of its destruction.
Who the hell stands to benefit from Hizballah’s aggression? Lebanese society? No way. This was done at the behest of the Syrio-Iranian Shiite Shitheads who control Hizballah.
And this war will not end until one or both of those countries are made to pay for what they have done.

The Obsolescence of Fiction
One of my commenters, Johnny Feelgood (”…if that really is your name…”), links us to this incredible piece of irony:
Israel is attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon and the civilians are getting worried. Strangely, a large proportion of the Lebanese population turns out to be Danish (5,000 people), Swedish (6,000) or Canadian (30,000). Apparently lots of people, who have received asylum, are now on vacation in the very country from which they have ostensibly fled.
