All Over But the Voting
The Democrats are in trouble if Jack Murtha and Steny Hoyer get into it over the House Majority Leadership position. With a prospective Speaker Pelosi, the anti-war crowd will be in nominal control of the House of Representatives, but with so many Democrats in a pro-war posture (as evidenced by today’s vote) that it will increasingly isolate the far Left as the Bush Administration continues to move towards victory —achieved or declared— in Iraq.
Once again, the Democrats are going to put the Dissenting War Hero gambit to the test. Murtha? Ever seen this guy in the well and aisle? He misspeaks constantly and his logic is mediocre. The guy’s a disaster. And certain Presidential candidates in his party aren’t going to want that albatross around their necks when it’s time to make their move.
And, no, I don’t believe the numbers on what the American People think of the war for Iraq. I think they are eminently changeable.
